Questions about Cougar Village

How are apartments awarded

Apartment applications are submitted by "teams" of three or four. Residential Life assigns a point value based on the GPA and credit hours of the members of each team. The point values of the members will then be averaged to calculate the total team score. Residential Life will assign priority to your group based upon GPAs and credit hours. The teams with the highest averages will be selected for Cougar Village. Anyone, including rising sophomores, are encouraged to apply if they are interested.

How many people can live in an apartment?

Beginning Fall 2020 Cougar Village Apartments will no longer allow 4 residents to reside in a 3 bedroom apartment. Cougar Village Apartments will be occupied by the room. Therefore an applicant's name may only appear on a maximum of one 3 bedroom Cougars Village Apartment application type and one 4 bedroom Cougars Village Apartment application type.

Do current Cougar Village residents have “squatter’s right”?

No, we do not offer squatter’s right. Current residents must participate in the application process again as well.
